Welcome to A Chronicle of Alchemy. This series is not a story about fixing a life. This is a record of what happens when life breaks open and refuses to close the same way again.
Every life has a period that rearranges it. It’s an era where the old ways stop working, the future refuses to announce itself, and peace becomes something you choose instead of something you wait for. The years collected here belong to that space.
This is my story. A map of my thirties, starting at year twenty-nine. It is not the story of my trauma and struggle, though they are mentioned. This is the story of how that ache showed me my truth. A reflection of my healing, and the journey I have traveled as I realized how to love myself and my life.
A Chronicle of Alchemy traces the years from the other side of trauma. It’s not a tale of someone healed into perfection, but a story about someone who has integrated enough to remember without returning to the ache.
What follows is not advice or doctrine. It is a study in disruption as instruction, and in healing not as ascent, but as return.
This work references experiences that may be activating for some readers.
Including, but not limited to:
trauma
Physical & emotional abuse
mental health crises
pregnancy & childbirth complications
loss
periods of instability
Houselessness
Suicidal ideation
These experiences are written from a place of resolution and integration, not re-entry.
Care for yourself while reading. Pause when needed. Skip sections without explanation. There is no right way to move through this work.
This chronicle is offered with respect for your nervous system, and for the reality that healing is not linear.
What Is “A Chronicle of Alchemy”?
The Chronicle of Alchemy starts in 2016 and contains experiences from my twenty-ninth and thirtieth year; as well as the clarity and understanding those experiences offered me. There will be mentions of traumatic experiences, so be mindful of that and use your discernment. I do my best to offer pauses and guidance to navigate the hard stuff, so you can skip over that if you need to. But, if your mental wellness does not feel safe or supported, I suggest skipping this series.
A Chronicle of Alchemy: The Years
Book One: The Great Disturbance 2016/2017/2018
This is the year that everything loosened. Survival stopped working, fear grew louder, and a quiet decision was made to stop running. This book marks the moment my life cracked open and refused to close the same way again. It has some weight to it.
Book Two: The Crucible of Self 2018/2019
This year carried a lot of pressure, and repetition. Old patterns surfaced, but not to punish, just to be seen. It’s a year that tested what remained when identity, certainty, and control were stripped down to their essentials.
Book Three: The Erosion of Masks 2019/2020
This is the year the roles began to fail. The stories once used to survive began to lose their usefulness as grief unlocks a door. This book explores what happens when performance falls away and truth is allowed to be unfinished.
Book Four: The Luminous Thread 2020/2021
Amid confusion and fatigue, something steady revealed itself. This year follows the quiet through-line of intuition and curiosity that remained intact even when everything else felt uncertain.
Book Five: The Shattered Vessel 2021/2022
Loss arrived again, changing the shape of everything. This book holds grief as a breaking that makes room. It is the echo of an undoing, that allows something truer to emerge.
Book Six: The Fractured Compass 2022/2023
Direction was no longer obvious. External guidance failed, and internal trust had not fully formed. This year examines disorientation as a necessary passage, not a mistake.
Book Seven: The Weight of Nothing 2023/2024
Here, emptiness took center stage. Not collapse, but the reckoning of self-abandonment. Fear revealed the surprising weight of nothing left to prove.
Book Eight: The Return of Fire 2024/2025
Vitality re-entered without force; while desire, creativity, and agency returned. This book carries urgency, but as warmth instead of desperation. It marks the rekindling of life from within.
Book Nine: The Garden of Self 2025/2026
What was tended began to grow. This final year is not a conclusion, but a cultivation that reflects living in relationship with what has been integrated and allowing becoming to continue.
